Lloyd Brasileiro's Laguna, a cargo and passenger steamer, stranded on the Laguna bar, on October 24, 1921, before improvements were made to facilitate access to the Port of Laguna. Built in 1890 as the Alexandria, the vessel had first sailed for the Rio de Janeiro shipping company Empresa Esperança Marítima.
