SHIPS AND PORTS OF BRAZIL
In Postcards and Souvenir Albums
João Emílio Gerodetti and Carlos Cornejo

A crowd gathers to see off the Anna C. at the Port of Santos in 1953. Between 1948 and 1960 the 11,736-ton Anna C. carried thousands of emigrants from Genoa to Rio de Janeiro, Santos, Montevideo, and Buenos Aires. In 1960 she entered service as a cruise ship, and in 1971 a fire ended her career. This photograph was taken by Santos resident José Dias Herrera.
