In Postcards and Souvenir Albums
João Emílio Gerodetti and Carlos Cornejo

In 1939, only months after the outbreak of World War II, the Windhuk took shelter in the Port of Santos, disguised as the Japanese ship Santos Maru. Seized by the Brazilian government in 1942, she was sold that year to the United States, which converted her into a troopship renamed the LeJeune.
